Meetings and Workshops

Meetings

Meetings of the LVMTA take place on Wednesday mornings in either Peter Hall or Hearst Hall at Moravian College Music Department on the Priscilla Payne Hurd campus. Monthly meetings occur from September through April.

Join us for a "Meet & Greet" at 9:00 AM followed by either a business meeting or a program from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.

Programs encompass subjects such as lecture/recitals, music research, teacher forums, repertoire, teaching methods and resources, music advocacy, business practices, health and wellness issues, and more. During the business meetings, committee reports are presented along with a discussion of current and future events.

Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information on the programs, please contact Darlene Sydlik.

"Flutations", led by Karen El-Chaar presents a lecture/recital at a Wednesday meeting.

Workshops

Teacher Workshops, usually held on Saturdays, provide opportunities for instrumental and vocal teachers to gain insight and perspective on topics pertaining to music pedagogy and performance.

Featured are guest speakers, lecturers, and clinicians who are experts in fields such as music pedagogy, performance, instrumental and vocal technique, and interpretation.

On occasion, LVMTA members share their perspective and knowledge and facilitate discussions on the topic at hand.
